Bring us to your school or youth organisation
Every young person deserves a chance to understand the world they live in. We think that a basic understanding of the economy should be something every young person gets access to in school.
Feeling encouraged to confidently and critically engage with economic ideas is essential to take part in adult life. We know from experience that a few very simple sessions can make all the difference to help young people take part in economic conversations that will affect their future.
If you’d like to discuss bringing us into your school or youth group get in touch at schools[at]ecnmy.org.
How can you get involved?
Help us make this happen by getting your school or youth organisation involved with our work. We work with partners to create exciting ways for young people to learn about and understand the economy, explore critical issues and take part in economic conversations.
We can work with you to:
- Provide training and support for you to run teacher-led or staff-led sessions
- Directly deliver online workshops and extracurricular courses
- Run live Q+A sessions with professional economists

Discover the Economy Accelerator
We also offer our in-person Discover the Economy Accelerator, an 8 week course delivered for free by trained DBS-checked university Economics students. The Accelerator is a collaborative, positive space for 12 young people from your school who have not chosen to study Economics to engage with economists and with their peers about their economic future, take a role of public leadership on the economy and become equipped to engage in economic media texts.
What topics do we cover?
Our workshops are designed to get you thinking about how your day to day life is affected and affects the economy. We will cover what the economy is, how it works and how it affects young people. It will help develop the confidence, critical reasoning and communication skills to understand and take part in economic debate.
In our digital workshops, young people can explore what the economy is, why young voices matter in economics, and how Covid has affected young people’s job opportunities and long-term economic futures.
What impact will it have?
By taking part in our workshops, young people have opportunities to develop their sense of power, identity, values and voice in the economy through practising communication skills, exploring their economic future and valuing diverse ideas.
